Arts Council Kicks Off 2026-27 Season Back to School Bash and Film Series

The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa will launch its 2026-27 season on August 7 with two free public events at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center and the Historic Bama Theatre. From 5 to 7 p.m., the Back to School Bash at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center will connect families with local organizations, nonprofits, and businesses offering educational resources, extracurricular activities, and community programs, along with live music, raffle giveaways, and information about upcoming arts workshops and classes. That evening also marks the start of the Bama Art House Film Series‘ new season, which features a year-round lineup of classic films, family favorites, Marvel movies, horror classics, holiday screenings, and romantic comedies at the Historic Bama Theatre. The film series offers affordable admission throughout the season, with discounts, punch cards, and popcorn add-on options available for frequent moviegoers. Together, the two August 7 events highlight the Arts Council’s commitment to providing accessible arts, entertainment, and educational opportunities for the Tuscaloosa community.
