The 55th Kentuck Festival of the Arts will take place October 17-18, 2026, at Snow Hinton Park in Tuscaloosa, bringing together more than 270 artists from across the country for one of the Southeast’s premier arts festivals. The nationally recognized event celebrates creativity, culture, and community with a diverse showcase of folk art, contemporary art, and traditional crafts. Visitors can enjoy live music, spoken word performances, craft demonstrations, food trucks, local craft beer, and interactive activities for children throughout the weekend. The festival attracts more than 15,000 attendees each year and has earned recognition from organizations including the Alabama Department of Tourism and national arts publications. Proceeds from the festival support the year-round programs and educational initiatives of the Kentuck Art Center, helping sustain arts programming across West Alabama.

Sean Dietrich Returns to the Bama Theatre

Arts Council Kicks Off 2026-27 Season Back to School Bash and Film Series

From 5 to 7 p.m., the Back to School Bash at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center will connect families with local organizations, nonprofits, and businesses offering educational resources, extracurricular activities, and community programs, along with live music, raffle giveaways, and information about upcoming arts workshops and classes. That evening also marks the start of the Bama Art House Film Series‘ new season, which features a year-round lineup of classic films, family favorites, Marvel movies, horror classics, holiday screenings, and romantic comedies at the Historic Bama Theatre. The film series offers affordable admission throughout the season, with discounts, punch cards, and popcorn add-on options available for frequent moviegoers. Together, the two August 7 events highlight the Arts Council’s commitment to providing accessible arts, entertainment, and educational opportunities for the Tuscaloosa community.
