The City of Tuscaloosa will host its first combined farmers market and Strawberry Festival on Tuesday, April 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market. The event will feature strawberries from three Chilton County farms along with participation from 30 regular market vendors. Attendees can enjoy live music, kids’ face painting, a petting zoo, and other activities. The Tuscaloosa Farmers Market offers fresh local produce, meats, artisan goods, and is free and open to the public. It is held year-round on Saturdays and accepts SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and has been named Alabama’s best farmers market for four consecutive years.
