Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra: RISE

The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2025–2026 season with RISE on April 27 at Moody Concert Hall, featuring an evening centered on reflection and renewal. The concert coincides with the 15th anniversary of the April 27, 2011 tornadoes, honoring themes of resilience, remembrance, and hope. The program includes Verdi’s Overture to Nabucco, A Time for Jubilee commemorating the Selma March, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. The performance will feature collaborations with choirs from Stillman College, Tuskegee University, and Alabama State University, along with soprano Laquita Mitchell. A pre-concert event will also include a special intimate performance by Mitchell during the Cheers & Chat celebration.
