Theatre Tuscaloosa will present the musical Big Fish at the Bean-Brown Theatre on Shelton State’s Martin Campus, with performances scheduled from July 16 through July 26, including a Pay-What-You-Can dress rehearsal on July 16. Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the film directed by Tim Burton, the musical tells the story of Edward Bloom, whose extraordinary tales challenge his son Will to discover the truth behind the legends. The production is directed by Theatre Tuscaloosa’s new executive producer, Michael Thomas Walker, with music direction by Leslie Poss and choreography by Cole Cabiniss. Featuring music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a book by John August, the Broadway musical blends fantasy, family, and heartfelt storytelling. Tickets are available at a range of prices for adults, seniors, military members, students, and children, with performances running at both evening and matinee times throughout the production.
